Entering its third season, NFL+ will be enhanced with the launch of NFL Pro, a brand-new platform for avid fans unlike any other on the market. Diving into the tape and numbers will be a more accessible process than ever with NFL Pro, available exclusively through NFL+ Premium subscriptions. NFL Pro offers fans access to nearly 100 unique player and team performance stats which are directly linked to All-22 Coaches Film, empowering fans with the most comprehensive platform for football analysis available to the public.
Study the game just like the pros, navigating dashboards with advanced metrics and filtering capabilities powered from Next Gen Stats. From these stats dashboards, fans will not only be able to evaluate players' aggregate performance metrics, but they will also be able to seamlessly bring these metrics to life with click-to-video capabilities. With NFL Pro, fans can create, save and share custom playlists based on tagged film from Next Gen Stats.
Beyond the ability to conduct independent research, fans will also be granted access to the massive library of insights that the Next Gen Stats team provides broadcasters and teams alike on a weekly basis. Game-preview pages present fans with matchup comparison ratings across 23 different categories, illuminating areas of the game where each team should have an edge.
The breadth of this new platform might be overwhelming at first blush, so we are here to help you make the most out of NFL Pro. Let's dive into the brand new features included with NFL Pro.
The Stats Section
For the first time ever, Next Gen Stats are being made available to the public with the capabilities to filter the data through different splits and aggregations. From player-level passing, rushing, receiving and defensive stats to team-level performance metrics, these dashboards are available at the game and season level. Each dashboard contains a suite of metrics relevant to that phase of the game, grouped across multiple tabs.
Don't miss the dynamic "Stat Starters" glossary at the top of each dashboard! This feature provides definitions and context around the more advanced metrics in the Next Gen Stats toolbox. These "Stat Starters" also delve into the relationship of a given statistic with other performance metrics, helping guide the best use cases and interpretations for each metrics.
The dashboards enable users to dig into the numbers and analyze the game like never before. Do you want to know who was the most productive quarterback against the blitz last season? Simply filter for blitzes using the Passing Splits dropdown on the Passing Stats dashboard, and you can choose which metric to sort by. If you were to sort by expected points added, you would see that Dak Prescott led the NFL with +46.3 EPA against the blitz last season.
These dynamic dashboards only scratch the surface of the power of NFL Pro, however. Notice the fields in the table whose values are represented by gold text boxes? Each of these hyperlink to a playlist where you can watch the All-22 Coaches Film for those specific plays. For instance, you could watch all 14 of Prescott's TD passes against the blitz from last season, or, for a more expansive analysis, all 175 of his dropbacks against the blitz. This powerful marriage between the numbers and film will lead you back to tape study to power your own evaluation of your favorite players and teams.
The Film Room
While in the past, All-22 Coaches Film has only been available at the game level through NFL GamePass, NFL Pro allows users to make their own cut-ups based off of Next Gen Stats metadata. This enables the average fan to watch film the same way that head coaches, scouts and broadcast talent do. Equipped with autoplay and an on-field roster, The Film Room offers the smoothest experience on the market for breaking down the tape.
The Film Room provides users with a whole host of filters that unlock endless possibilities for playlists to create. Want to study the Chiefs' third-down blitz packages from last season? There's a playlist for that. How about every Lamar Jackson play-action pass that found an open receiver in 2023? There's a playlist for that. Christian McCaffrey rarely faced light boxes last season; go watch for yourself how he performed when given a favorable look. You could even watch all 99 of Micah Parsons' pressures from last season, which led the NFL.
Beyond ad-hoc analysis, The Film Room allows users to save playlists for repeat viewing. You can keep track of all of C.J. Stroud's deep passes this season with a saved playlist that will update at 6 a.m. ET the day after any Texans game this season. These playlists are tagged by a dynamic URL that includes the filters in the text, unlocking the ability to share your own cut-ups with anyone else with an NFL+ Premium account. Incorporate these links into your articles or share them with your friends to back up your takes.
Game Pages
The Game Pages in NFL Pro are a one-stop shop for both previewing and recapping any regular-season or postseason game. Heading into the week, these game pages will highlight curated matchup insights from the Next Gen Stats analyst team -- the same notes that help broadcast teams prepare each week. The matchup comparison tool compares each team's offensive and defensive units across 23 different splits, helping inspire users to dig deeper on the games within the game. The Pro Preview Tool also includes live odds from DraftKings, the injury report and each team's stat leaders to date.
Once a game starts, users will be able to follow the box score with a live win-probability chart and play-by-play tracker. The day after the game is played, the Next Gen Stats box score is unlocked, with the same click-to-video capabilities that are contained in the stats section.
Team and Player Pages
Follow the performances of your favorite teams and players throughout the season on their specified pages. The team pages will include their schedule and roster, with a transaction tracker and injury report that updates daily. Any insight unearthed by the Next Gen Stats group that relates to the team will be available in the insights-specific tabs of these dashboards. Be sure to also check out the team- and player-specific stats dashboards and pre-built playlists for The Film Room. The stats dashboards on player pages are especially helpful when it comes to comparing their performance across different splits and different time periods.
NFL Pro represents the first time Next Gen Stats is being released to the public in such breadth. But we are just getting started. This product will evolve and be enhanced in the coming years, developing new features to help avid fans dive deep and do their own research. More than anything, we want to hear from you! As we iterate on what this product can become, we will rely on user feedback to guide our development. So if you have any suggestions or feature requests, or find any bugs, be sure to share your feedback.
