Bryce Young will be back for the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.
Young, who missed the previous week with an ankle sprain, has no designation on Friday's injury report and is slated to start against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Injured during a Week 7 win over the New York Jets, Young was sidelined for a Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The 2023 NFL Draft's No. 1 overall pick shouldn't expect a warm welcome against a Micah Parsons-led Packers defense (sixth in yards allowed; 10th in points), but his return is great timing for Carolina.
Subbing for Young, veteran quarterback Andy Dalton played through the Bills defeat with a broken thumb, which led the Panthers to add Mike White to the active roster. Dalton is officially questionable after limited practices on Thursday and Friday.
Now in his third pro season and second with head coach Dave Canales, Young is producing his best season so far. He's 4-3 as a starter, equaling his career high in wins already. He's completed 138 of 224 passes (career-best 61.6%) for 1,288 yards, 11 touchdown passes and five interceptions.
The returning Young and the Panthers (4-4) kick off against the host Packers (5-1-1) at 1 p.m. ET.
