Neil Reynolds' 2025 Week 4 Power Rankings

As we move towards Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season, things are starting to take shape. But not completely. For example, I don't think the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs – both 1-2 – will have a losing record this year. But one of them will be 1-3 come Sunday night. That's no concern of the Buffalo Bills, who remain top of these rankings with a perfect 3-0 record.

  1. BUFFALO BILLS --

Josh Allen is the headline act at quarterback, of course, but the Bills rushed for more than 150 against Miami having topped 200 on the ground against the Jets the week before. There is balance with James Cook in the backfield for a team that seems to score 30 every week.

  1. DETROIT LIONS +4

The Lions have bounced back from an invisible Week 1 showing to flex their offensive muscle in wins over Chicago and Baltimore. Detroit have scored 90 points in the last two games and will have scared the rest of the NFL with aerial firepower, a tough ground attack and creativity.

  1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES +1

Jalen Hurts might not always open it up like he did in the second half of Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams, when he threw for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns in 30 minutes. Week to week, the Eagles will do whatever it takes to win. They will find a way.

  1. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS +1

The Chargers have suffered injuries along the offensive line, but it remains strong. And I believe quarterback Justin Herbert has never played better. Quentin Johnston is proving explosive at one receiver spot while Keenan Allen is rolling back the years at the other.

  1. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +2

The Bucs are never out of games when Baker Mayfield is at quarterback, with all three of their victories being sealed in the final minute. There are times when he remains me of Brett Favre in those situations – he certainly plays without fear. Philly presents a tough test in Week 4.

  1. BALTIMORE RAVENS -4

There might not be a better player in the league than Lamar Jackson but, after getting sacked seven times by the Lions, he and his squad are now 1-2. And Derrick Henry has a fumbling issue. Baltimore have played two big opponents in 2025 and lost them both. Next up, at KC.

  1. GREEN BAY PACKERS -4

You'll never believe me now, but I almost picked the Cleveland Browns to win at home last Sunday. It just felt like the ultimate trap game for Green Bay and so it proved to be. The late Jordan Love interception was his worst throw of the year and handed Cleveland life.

  1. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS --

Washington rallied around backup quarterback Marcus Mariota nicely during Sunday's huge win over Las Vegas. There were big plays on special teams and on offense. And in making his first start since 2022, Mariota reminded us that the Commanders have good QB depth.

  1. LOS ANGELES RAMS --

The Rams had their hearts ripped out with that loss to the Eagles. But once the pain eases, head coach Sean McVay will feel good about the direction of his team. And he will know that with better execution at key moments, they may not let Philly off the hook next time around.

  1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS +1

The Colts are 3-0 and Daniel Jones is an MVP candidate at quarterback. Who saw that one coming in 2025? Jones is a great story, but he is not the only headline act in Indianapolis. Jonathan Taylor is the league's leading rusher with 338 yards through three games.

  1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -1

The Chiefs continue to be a tough watch on offense and that is highlighted by the fact that Patrick Mahome remains their leading rusher with 125 yards and two touchdowns. Keeping this team afloat will require a huge effort on the defensive side of the ball.

  1. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS --

The injuries keep on piling up for the 49ers and you have to wonder when the dam is going to burst on that front. Pass-rushing ace Nick Bosa is now gone for the season with torn knee ligaments. But the one rock the Niners can cling to comes in the form of Christian McCaffrey.

  1. MINNESOTA VIKINGS +6

The Vikings have a very good roster, a playoff roster. But the one thing they had coming into 2025 was a question at quarterback. How good could JJ McCarthy be? Now, that question has turned to wondering what Kevin O'Connell can get out of veteran Carson Wentz.

  1. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS +1

The Seahawks have rebounded from a Week 1 loss to beat Pittsburgh and New Orleans in impressive fashion. And it looks as if Sam Darnold is growing more comfortable with every game. Their next three at Arizona, home to Tampa and at Jacksonville could be telling.

  1. PITTSBURGH STEELERS +3

The relationship between Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf promises to be special and is bearing fruit at times (TD connections in Weeks 2 and 3), but the offense needs more consistency. The D bounced back to force five turnovers against New England.

  1. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +6

Despite another Trevor Lawrence interception that could have proven costly in Week 3, the Jags found a way to fight past the Houston Texans and improved to 2-1. They made just enough offensive plays at the end and the defense continues to play at a high level.

  1. DENVER BRONCOS -4

It's not been the greatest of starts for second-year quarterback Bo Nix, but Denver are two plays away from sitting at 3-0 right now. The Broncos have lost their last two games on walk-off field goals at the buzzer. This is still a team capable of putting together a playoff run.

  1. CHICAGO BEARS +5

That was a highly encouraging win over Dallas in Week 3, but it could turn out that the Cowboys have one of the league's worst defenses. There will be tougher challenges. That said, the work of Caleb Williams and his receiving targets was very exciting to see.

  1. ATLANTA FALCONS -5

Atlanta's Week 3 showing was one of the most surprising and disappointing of this season to date. They went from beating the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football to being shut out and hammered by the previously-winless Carolina Panthers. What a fall from grace!

  1. ARIZONA CARDINALS --

Arizona lost their first game of the season on Sunday and defeat to San Francisco was tough to swallow. Kyler Murray didn't make enough plays, but he was also not helped out by those around him, who dropped too many passes. And now RB James Conner is gone for the year.

  1. CINCINNATI BENGALS -5

Rather than hold down the fort and avoid making mistakes in the absence of the injured Joe Burrow, Jake Browning turns into a turnover disaster. The result is the largest loss in Bengals' history (48-10 to the Vikings). I wonder if they get bolder at the QB position or stay put?

  1. HOUSTON TEXANS -5

Houston have scored just 38 points in three games. They need a get-right game on Sunday and better find a way to beat Tennessee. After that, the Texans face Baltimore, Seattle, San Francisco and Denver. And they still have Buffalo and KC in the second half of the year.

  1. CLEVELAND BROWNS +5

The Browns are held afloat by one of the league's best defenses. It certainly allowed them to hang around long enough to shock the Packers in Week 3. Myles Garrett is playing at the height of his powers and we're now getting some glimpses of rookie RB Quinshon Judkins.

  1. DALLAS COWBOYS -3

Dallas are reeling on the defensive side of the ball and they gave up way too many big pass plays. Getting fixed on Sunday Night Football would lift the mood, especially with Micah Parsons on Green Bay's sideline. But that seems unlikely and this year could unravel quickly.

  1. CAROLINA PANTHERS +6

Bryce Young had a few nice moments in Sunday's win over the Falcons, but the biggest story coming out of that game was that Carolina suddenly didn't look like they were fielding the worst defense in the NFL. Sustained improvement on that side of the ball would be massive.

  1. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS -1

The Raiders are a reminder that you can have interesting skill-position players such as Geno Smith at quarterback and Ashton Jeanty at running back, but it matters very little if the offensive line is poor. Smith is getting hit way too often – his 12 sacks rank second in the NFL.

  1. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -1

A week after playing a very clean game in beating the Miami Dolphins, New England turned the ball over five times at home against Pittsburgh. The fact that they still only lost by seven is a credit, but this is not a good enough team to be able to overcome that many mistakes.

  1. NEW YORK JETS -1

At least the Jets started to show some fight again in Week 3 and almost stole one against the Bucs. New York's offense has been stagnant the last two games, but now they face a Miami defense that has allowed at least 30 every week this season and is among the NFL's worst.

  1. MIAMI DOLPHINS +3

Miami hung around for more than three quarters against the Bills and then did what bad teams do – they found a way to beat themselves. Tua Tagovailoa threw another late interception that hurt his team and I wonder about his long-term future if this form continues.

  1. NEW YORK GIANTS -7

I've had microwave dinners cook longer than Russ did in New York this season. Wilson is heading to the bench after another moribund display against Kansas City on Sunday Night Football. There will be lumps along the way, but you might as well let Jaxson Dart have at it.

  1. TENNESSEE TITANS -2

Brian Callahan has joined Mike McDaniel in Miami as a coach on the hot seat. Like his counterpart with the Dolphins, Callahan is hearing the opposition talk about his team. Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. said he knew in pre-game warmups the Titans were not up for the fight on Sunday.

  1. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS -2

The Saints produced a catalogue of errors in Seattle on Sunday and they are now well into their unbreakable groove of this being a completely lost season. It won't get any easier in Week 4 because the Buffalo Bills are up next. "With the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft…"
