Here are my final power rankings of the 2025 regular season. After a tumultuous campaign, there is no change at the top… but plenty of movement elsewhere!
- SEATTLE SEAHAWKS --
Having an elite defense allows the offense to slowly warm up, as was the case in Week 17.
- NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +1
The Patriots are hitting top form at the right time and surely Drake Maye is the MVP-elect.
- DENVER BRONCOS +4
They play with their food too often, but Denver are for real and should be the AFC's top seed.
- SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +4
I'm starting to seriously believe in this team. Brock Purdy is playing great and the offense is humming.
- JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS --
With the Jags on a roll, Trevor Lawrence is one of the most in-form quarterbacks in the NFL.
- CHICAGO BEARS --
I'm not hitting the Bears hard for a narrow loss at SF. They and Caleb Williams were excellent.
- BUFFALO BILLS -3
Sleepwalking for halves and then waiting for a Josh Allen miracle comeback is no way to live.
- LOS ANGELES RAMS -6
In the blink of an eye, this team has gone from the NFL's best to an NFC five or six seed.
- PHILADELPHIA EAGLES +3
The offense is still a real worry, but the D is legit and the Eagles have now won three in a row.
- HOUSTON TEXANS +1
That defense is capable of wrecking an entire season in about three hours come playoff time.
- LOS ANGELES CHARGERS -2
The protection issues (or lack of) are real in Los Angeles and Justin Herbert is being affected.
- GREEN BAY PACKERS -2
The Packers have lost three in a row and are cooling off at the worst possible time of the year.
- BALTIMORE RAVENS +3
It doesn't take a genius to work out Baltimore's best chance of success. Feed Derrick Henry!
- CAROLINA PANTHERS +4
The Steelers will play for the division crown in Week 18, but it's hardly been an inspiring 2025.
- DETROIT LIONS -2
Detroit crashed out of the playoff race in suicidal fashion with six giveaways on Christmas Day.
- MINNESOTA VIKINGS +3
The Vikings have rolled through three quarterbacks but still enter Week 18 with an 8-8 record.
- ATLANTA FALCONS +3
The Falcons have shown late signs of life, Kirk Cousins can still play and Bijan Robinson is a stud.
- CAROLINA PANTHERS -4
After seven straight losing seasons, Carolina are playing for the division. But is their QB good enough?
- INDIANAPOLIS COLTS -2
With a once-promising season about to end, a big offseason beckons for the Colts; who have no first-round draft choices.
- DALLAS COWBOYS +1
I believe there is enough foundational talent on Dallas' offense to make this a contender in 2026.
- CINCINNATI BENGALS +1
The Bengals are another team who face a massive offseason in which their line must be built.
- NEW ORLEANS SAINTS +1
The Saints have won four in a row and might actually be the best team in a poor NFC South.
- TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS -5
The Bucs have lost seven of their last eight and now need a win and help to reach the playoffs.
- MIAMI DOLPHINS +1
As low as they once were, it's low-key impressive that the Dolphins now have seven wins.
- KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -1
Could Travis Kelce be about to play his final NFL game in Week 18? If that is the case, what a ride it has been!
- CLEVELAND BROWNS +2
Sunday's win over Pittsburgh was a weirdly-depressing reminder that the Browns have wasted a Super Bowl-calibre defense.
- WASHINGTON COMMANDERS -1
Dan Quinn wanted veteran tone-setters early in his reign. Now he needs his team to get younger.
- TENNESSEE TITANS -1
Cam Ward is almost there in terms of surviving a rough rookie year. Now he needs more help.
- NEW YORK GIANTS +2
The Giants will be an attractive job because of the excitement around Jaxson Dart at QB.
- ARIZONA CARDINALS -1
I can see the Cards cutting Kyler Murray, surviving with Jacoby Brissett and grooming another QB.
- NEW YORK JETS -1
The Jets are as low on energy as they are talent. It feels like a long, hard climb for Aaron Glenn.
- LAS VEGAS RAIDERS --
Big changes are coming in Las Vegas and I have to believe it starts with veteran head coach Pete Carroll.
