The Fit Files

Micah Parsons, Patrick Surtain II lead NFL's five best-dressed in Week 4

In our Week 3 installment of The Fit Files: NFL's Five Best-Dressed, defensive players ran the NFL tunnel runway for the first time this season, led by edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, whose last-minute outfit pivot turned gold. This week, two of the NFL's best defenders topped the list, including a star pass rusher who owned the spotlight here even if he had to settle for a tie in a would-be revenge game against his former team.

Before we dig in, here's a quick refresher on the members of our panel:

Terron Armstead -- Former five-time Pro Bowl left tackle for the Saints and Dolphins (2013-2024); currently hosts The Set podcast on YouTube bi-weekly on Monday/Thursday night.

  • Fashion vision: Fashion is our daily "first impression." It's our non-verbal expression, so I use it as the first line of communication.

Jamie Erdahl -- Host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network and the nationally syndicated show GMFB OT.

  • Fashion vision: Designer sweatshirts take the cake.

Jason McCourty -- Super Bowl champion and former cornerback for the Titans, Browns, Patriots and Dolphins (2009-2021); current ESPN studio analyst/CBS game analyst.

  • Fashion vision: Fashion is confidence, and confidence is a stain you can't wipe off!

Chad Johnson -- Custom clothier and designer for Duane & Johnson menswear tailoring.

  • Fashion vision: Where style outlives the season -- fashion, to me, is making today timeless.

And finally, I am a national TV reporter for NFL Network, and my fashion vision is: Dress how you want to be addressed and wear what helps you exude, "I'm HIM."

A NOTE ON METHODOLOGY: Panelists voted on a list of fits shown off before games from Thursday through Monday, with five points being assigned to each first-place vote, four-points being assigned to each second-place vote, and so on. For players who have previously earned votes, we will list their season point total and mark any prior top-five finishes.

Here, presented in reverse order, are the winners from Week 4:

5) Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Our awesome panelist Jamie Erdahl spent the week in Dublin working as NFL Network's sideline reporter for the Vikings' loss to the Steelers. But she made it clear that Jefferson took no losses overseas in the fashion game with this unique, on-brand fit:

Points: 7

Camel toe shoes! Talk about standout pregame wear. It's a reminder that you never know what Winston will don (or say) in the spotlight. In the end, the accessories all complement him, and this matches his personality well.

3) Ray-Ray McCloud III, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Points: 8 | Season point total: 17

McCloud remains a regular in our weekly fit rankings because of his creativity and fearlessness. He seems to make each calculated risk work with his confidence and style sense.

Johnson, who voted McCloud No. 1, noted his appreciation for how McCloud has made his fits stand out without clashing.

2) Patrick Surtain II, CB, Denver Broncos

Points: 9

Nothing like an all-white fit, especially when you give it some pop with a red accessory bag. Surtain's pregame fit was as smooth as his lockdown coverage of Ja'Marr Chase on Monday. Effortless swag.

1) Micah Parsons, LB, Green Bay Packers

Points: 12

Parsons made it clear he wanted to make a statement on Sunday night facing his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, and he did it from the moment he stepped off the bus with the clear best suit of Week 4.

McCourty, who voted Parsons No. 1, said, "That's the, 'They going to miss me when I'm gone,' fit."

Parsons' cream pinstripe suit was tailored perfectly, and it pairs well with a black tie that screams I'm here to handle business.

Just missed the cut: Cam Heyward (5 points), DJ Reader (5), Puka Nacua (4), Sauce Gardner (3), Grant Delpit (2), Bradley Chubb (2), A.J. Brown (2), Jalen Ramsey (2), David Njoku, Cam Skattebo, Keion White, Kevin O'Connell, Joseph Ossai.
