Xavier Worthy is nearing a potential return after just one week out of action.
The Chiefs receiver (shoulder) is questionable for Kansas City's Week 3 game against the New York Giants, according to the team's Friday injury report.
Worthy was a limited participant in practice from Wednesday to Friday, and coach Andy Reid told reporters Friday "we'll see how it goes" in regards to Worthy's availability Sunday.
Worthy suffered the shoulder injury on the Chiefs' third play from scrimmage in their Week 1 Friday night showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paolo, Brazil and did not return to the eventual 27-21 loss. Without Worthy, the Chiefs have been forced to rely on Tyquan Thornton when attempting to stretch the field with a receiving corps that also includes JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquise Brown, Jalen Royals and occasional contributor Nikko Remigio.
Royals, like Worthy, is questionable for Sunday's game due to a knee injury.
Kansas City enters Week 3 with an 0-2 record and heads to New York desperate for a win after two close losses to Los Angeles and Philadelphia. They'll hope Worthy can play a part in their pursuit of success Sunday.
