Veteran wide receiver DJ Chark is calling it a career after seven seasons in the NFL.
"After much contemplation, I have decided to share a proper farewell as I navigate retirement," Chark posted on social media Friday. "My journey began at the age of 7 when I signed up for football, unaware of the profound impact it would have on my life. I simply loved the sport and had the unwavering support of my parents. Years later I received the support of my wife, kids, family and thousands of fans!"
Chark, 29, last appeared in an NFL game in 2025 as a member of the Chargers.
A second-round pick out of LSU in 2018, Chark spent his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and developed quickly into a deep-threat receiver. In his second season, Chark reached the 1,000-yard receiving mark on 73 receptions and scored eight touchdowns to earn a Pro Bowl trip.
In 2022, he entered free agency for the first time in his career and signed a one-year contract with the Lions. Chark would eventually have one-year stops with the Panthers and Chargers following his stop in Detroit.
After his 2024 campaign ended with the Chargers, Chark was weighing all options in the offseason before entering his eighth season. He would eventually sign with the Falcons but he was released before the start of the 2025 season.
Over the course of Chark's career, he had a total of 216 receptions, 3,100 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in 76 games.
