Zach Banner's first season as Pittsburgh's starting right tackle is likely over after one game.
The initial diagnosis for Banner's knee injury is a torn ACL, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported, per a source informed of the situation. Banner will undergo an MRI to verify the injury, which will end his season if confirmed.
Banner suffered the injury late in Pittsburgh's 26-16 win over the New York Giants on a game-sealing touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster. While the Steelers enjoyed their first victory of 2020, Banner was visibly upset on the sideline as his teammates helped him move from one location to another, seemingly aware of his unfortunate outcome.
The former USC lineman is in his third professional season and second campaign with Pittsburgh after beginning his NFL career with Cleveland. Former Western Michigan lineman Chukwuma Okorafor is listed as Banner's backup on Pittsburgh's depth chart.
Elsewhere in Pittsburgh's offense, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that offensive lineman Stefan Wisniewski (pectoral) and running back James Conner (ankle) are still being evaluated. Tomlin added the Steelers will "leave the light on" for Conner to play against the Broncos in Week 2.

- Riddled with injuries to key players, the New York Jets placed running back Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) and rookie wide receiver Denzel Mims (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, the team announced. Starting linebacker Blake Cashman (groin) is also headed to IR. Meanwhile, with Bell's absence, New York signed Kalen Ballage to the active roster. Ballage, the former Miami Dolphins starter, was originally drafted by current Jets coach Adam Gase when Gase was coaching the Dolphins. New York previously tried to engineer a trade for Ballage, but it fell through when he failed a physical and was subsequently released by Miami.
- Denver Broncos cornerback A.J. Bouye suffered a dislocated shoulder Monday night, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. With tests still to come, the lingering question is how much associated damage Bouye suffered but there's hope that he won't miss much time, Garafolo added.
The Broncos also announced they have officially placed defensive end Von Miller (ankle) on injured reserve. There is a change Miller is out for the season, but that's yet to be determined.
Denver running back Phillip Lindsay exited Monday's game against the Titans early with a turf toe injury. Lindsay is getting a second opinion on the injury and there is optimism he will not be out long, Pelissero reported. However, his status is in doubt for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
- Las Vegas Raiders tackle Trent Brown is not believed to have suffered a calf injury against the Panthers, Rapoport reported. Brown has a chance to play Monday night against the Saints. The Raiders announced they have added cornerback Nevin Lawson to the active roster.
- The Dallas Cowboys placed three players -- Leighton Vander Esch (collarbone), Blake Jarwin (ACL) and Cameron Erving (MCL) -- on injured reserve and signed defensive back Brandon Carr from the practice squad.
- The Detroit Lions are placing cornerback Justin Coleman on injured reserve after he suffered a hamstring injury Sunday, Pelissero reported, per a source. Detroit's hope is Coleman is ready to return when he's eligible in three weeks. Some good news on the DB front, however is that cornerback Desmond Trufant will have a chance to play on Sunday against the Packers as the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's game is not significant, Pelissero reported.
- The Tennessee Titans have restructured safety Kevin Byard's contract for salary cap purposes, clearing $6.12 million in 2020 cap space, Pelissero reported. He still makes $9.1M this season. Byard is under contract through the 2024 season.
- Free-agent quarterback Shea Patterson is set to work out for the Baltimore Ravens this morning, Rapoport reported, per a source. Patterson, who played for Ole Miss and Michigan, recently spent time with the Chiefs.
- The Cincinnati Bengals are claiming kicker Austin Seibert off waivers from the Browns, Pelissero and Garafolo reported, per sources. Seibert was replaced in Cleveland by Cody Parkey and now has an opportunity to replace Randy Bullock in Cincinnati and kick against his former team on Thursday night.
- The Philadelphia Eagles are placing defensive end Vinny Curry (hamstring) and cornerback Craig James (thigh) on injured reserve. Philadelphia signed guard Sua Opeta to the active roster and tight end Jordan Franks to the practice squad.
- The Tennessee Titans waived wide receiver Cody Hollister and added linebacker Tuzar Skipper to their practice squad while removing linebacker Jamal Davis.
- The Houston Texans signed tight end Pharoah Brown from their practice squad, signed guard Cordel Iwuagwu to their practice squad and placed tight end Kahale Warring on injured reserve.
- New England Patriots kicker Nick Folk is staying put. A week prior, Folk was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad, but he's being officially signed to the 53-man roster, Rapoport reported.
- The Atlanta Falcons announced they've signed offensive lineman John Wetzel to the 53-man roster.
- The San Francisco 49ers' visit with pass rusher Ziggy Ansah has ended without an agreement for a contract and Ansah will continue his search for the right team and fit, Rapoport reported.
