Taylor Swift geeked out over Chiefs drafting Xavier Worthy

Xavier Worthy might find himself the most popular man in the locker room for a few days.

The Kansas City Chiefs receiver trended on social media Wednesday after pop icon Taylor Swift cited him as an example of her new obsession with football.

Appearing on "New Heights" with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason Kelce, Swift discussed becoming an NFL fan.

"I fell in love with it. I became obsessed with it," she beamed. "I became like a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, 'We drafted Xavier Worthy!' And my friends are like, 'Who body snatched you? What do you mean we drafted Xavier Worthy?'"

Travis interjected: "I forget where I was, but you were the first person to tell me that we drafted the fastest man in the draft."

"No, I was screeching. I couldn't believe it. Freaking out," Swift responded.

The Chiefs acquired Worthy in a 2024 draft-night trade with AFC rival Buffalo.

"I couldn't believe it either. I'm like, wait, is she right? I had to look this up," Travis said. "I'm like, did she get the wrong information here? But, yeah, we traded up."

Swift said that her burgeoning relationship with football continues to deepen as her relationship with the younger Kelce grows.

"Yeah, we're talking about cover two, cover four, cover zero, man coverage. We're learning. I continue to learn. I'm not ready to be an analyst right now, but give me 16 months," she quipped.

There are, no doubt, many TV stations that would love to employ Swift as an analyst. Unfortunately, for them, she sounds like she'll be busy promoting her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
