The Kansas City Chiefs received more good news on the injury front with cornerback Bashaud Breeland clearing concussion protocol, the team announced Saturday.
Breeland will no longer have a game status designation on the Chiefs injury report, ensuring the veteran CB will play in Sunday's AFC Championship game vs. the Buffalo Bills.
Breeland, who was originally listed as questionable, was a limited participant in all three practices for the Chiefs this week. The seven-year veteran accrued two interceptions, nine pass deflections and one fumble forced in 11 starts this season. Breeland played in 86 percent of the defensive snaps in last week's Divisional Round win over the Cleveland Browns.
The Chiefs secondary will surely need Breeland's presence as they go up against a high-octane Bills offense led by quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The superb pairing has given opportunity for a stellar supporting cast of pass catchers including Cole Beasley, John Brown, and Isaiah McKenzie.
The Bills ranked third in the NFL with 288.8 passing yards per game during the regular season and finished second in the league with an average of 31.3 points per game. The Chiefs defense has allowed 236.2 passing yards per game and 22.6 points per game this season.
Also, Kansas City elevated receiver Marcus Kemp and defensive back Chris Lammons from the practice squad.

- Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams has been activated from the practice squad to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement. Williams, 37, was released by the Ravens following their divisional round loss to the Bills, and signed with the Packers where he played on two previous occasions. If he plays, he'll become the first player in NFL history to play with two different teams in the same postseason. Defensive lineman Brian Price and CB KeiVarae Russell were also elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. Punter Ryan Winslow was signed to the practice squad while running back Dexter Williams was released.
- The Buffalo Bills have elevated receiver Kenny Stills and cornerback Dane Jackson from the practice squad, signed kicker Tristan Vizcaino to the practice squad and released CB Duke Thomas from the practice squad. Sunday would be Stills' Buffalo debut; he signed with the team's practice squad on Jan. 4. Prior to joining the Bills, Stills tallied 11 receptions for 144 yards and TD (10 games) with the Texans before being waived in November.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers elevated safety Javon Hagan and offensive lineman Ted Larsen from the practice squad.
- The San Francisco 49ers are hiring former Giants DC James Bettcher in a senior defensive role, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per an informed source. Bettcher will provide veteran assistance for new coordinator DeMeco Ryans, he added.
- Two controversial plays from last week's Cleveland Browns-Kansas City Chiefs divisional round game -- linebacker Mack Wilson's takedown that put quarterback Patrick Mahomes in concussion protocol, and safety Daniel Sorensen's helmet hit on receiver Rashard Higgins that caused a fumble -- resulted in no fines from the NFL, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.
- Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was fined $10,000 for yanking Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins' facemask after a play in the Divisional Round, Pelissero reported.
- The Cleveland Browns have signed wide receiver Ryan Switzer to the reserve/futures list. Switzer spent part of the 2020 season on the Browns practice squad after his release from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
