Derrick Henry is sick of watching the Super Bowl on a TV screen. The Baltimore Ravens RB wants to finally have his moment in the biggest game of the season.
"I want to win a Super Bowl. That's a big motivation," Henry said on "The Lounge" podcast, via the team’s official website. "I just want to be able to feel that feeling. I'm tired of watching. Every year, I'm tired of being at home on the couch watching. I want to be a part of it. That's what's motivating me right now. I'm going to keep going until we get to that point. We have the 2026 season to get that accomplished."
After eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, in which he made the playoffs four times, getting as far as the AFC Championship Game, Henry enters his third year with Baltimore. The Ravens let a Divisional Round playoff game slip through their fingers in Buffalo two years ago and missed the postseason in 2025.
"It would be crazy for me to say I played with Lamar Jackson and we didn't win no championships," Henry said. "I cannot have that. I do not want that to be a thing. We've got to do it."
The combo of the two-time NFL MVP and the future Hall of Fame running back coming up short in the postseason would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Henry currently ranks in the top 10 in NFL history in both rushing yards (10th) and rushing touchdowns (fourth). With at least two rush TDs, Henry will pass Hall of Famer Marcus Allen for third-most rushing scores all-time. He's 994 yards from leaping all the way to No. 6 on the all-time rushing yards list, blasting past HOFers Eric Dickerson, Jerome Bettis, LaDainian Tomlinson and Curtis Martin. Henry has had at least 1,000 rushing yards in each of the past four seasons (1,595 and 16 TDs in 2025) and seven of the past eight campaigns.
Climbing the all-time ranks would simply be a byproduct of chasing the ultimate goal.
"If me getting to No. 6 gets me to the Super Bowl, then so be it. If we get that ring, everything else will happen," Henry said. "For me to be able to be in the top 10 and this year to be able to get to 6, it's so crazy to me. Like, me?! The guys I grew up watching, idolizing and hearing about, it's so crazy."
