  • QB Aidan O'Connell is preparing to start against the Chiefs on Friday, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported. O'Connell has been on injured reserve since breaking his thumb Week 7 but returned to practice Monday in the wake of Gardner Minshew's season-ending collarbone injury.

RETIREMENT NEWS

  • LB Shaquil Barrett, currently under contract with the Dolphins, has applied for reinstatement after announcing his retirement this summer, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Barrett is willing to play for Miami in his return, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported.
