Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) questionable for Thursday night showdown with Cowboys

Amon-Ra St. Brown's status for a massive Thursday night matchup is going to be up in the air until game day.

The Detroit Lions wide receiver is questionable to play on Thursday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys due to a low ankle sprain.

St. Brown was injured during Detroit's Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers last week.

The two-time All-Pro hasn't practiced this week and said during the week he was uncertain if he would be able to play Thursday.

Through 12 starts this season, St. Brown leads the Lions by large margins in all three top receiving categories with 75 receptions, 884 yards and nine touchdowns.

Detroit (7-5) has lost two of three and sits at No. 8 in the NFC playoff seedings, just a spot ahead of the Cowboys (6-5-1) at No. 9. Dallas, though, won on Thanksgiving against the Kansas City Chiefs and is riding a three-game winning streak into Thursday.

Going into the prime-time showdown without St. Brown would be a massive hit for the Lions, even more so considering the Jared Goff-led offense is already operating without tight end Sam LaPorta, who's on injured reserve due to a back injury.

Should St. Brown be inactive, Jameson Williams (38/706/6) would assume the WR1 role. Detroit will also be without wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who's caught just 15 balls this year, but that puts him statistically as the team's No. 3 WR. Thusly, the opportunity could be there for rookie Isaac TeSlaato make a leap.

The Cowboys and Lions kick off Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
