The Jacksonville Jaguars expect to have their big-money quarterback on the field in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.
Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Trevor Lawrence should return after missing the past two games due to a shoulder injury.
"I would say that as of right now, yes, he will play," Pederson said. "We get through today, Friday, Saturday, but he's had a good week."
Lawrence is having his worst season since his rookie year in 2021, completing 61.3 percent of his passes for 222.7 yards per game with an 87.9 passer rating.
The Jaguars suffered a 52-6 loss in Week 11 at Detriot sans Lawrence prior to their Week 12 bye.
The hope is having the starter back against a division rival will provide an emotional lift.
"I think anytime you get your starting quarterback back out there, that gives you a little energy and all of that. It's a positive," Pederson said.
In a lost season, with Pederson fighting for his future at 2-9, the Jags need any positive they can find.
