Injuries: Justin Houston sprains knee, left game

The Chiefs defense has been rolling the past few weeks during Kansas City's four-game win streak. They had to gut out their win against the Bills without one of their best defenders for much of the contest.

Justin Houston went to the locker room after getting leg-whipped late in the first quarter against Buffalo. He did not return to the game and coach Andy Reid said after the game he suffered a knee sprain.

Center Mitch Morse was also ruled out with a concussion in the fourth quarter. Former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher went down at the end of the first half for the Chiefs, but walked off under his own power. He went to the locker room with a neck strain and didn't return.

Here's the rest of Sunday's injuries we are tracking:

  1. Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski was carted off the field with a knee injury late in the fourth quarter. He did not return. The injury is to the same knee that was reconstructed in January of 2014. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported after the game that initial tests on Gronkowski's knee rule out a serious injury, per a source informed of the results.
  1. Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham injured his right knee in the fourth quarter on Sunday. The tight end was carted off the field in an air cast. Pete Carroll later told reporters that Graham is out for the rest of the season with a torn patellar tendon that will require surgery.
  1. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left Sunday's game late in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. Pittsbrugh PR later said Big Ben self reported his symptoms before entering the protocol.
  1. Dolphins wideout Rishard Matthews suffered a chest/rib injury in the first quarter of their game and did not return. Center Mike Pouncey was carted to the locker room with a right foot injury and was ruled out.
  1. Cardinals running back Chris Johnson went into the locker room in the third quarter with a left knee injury. Arizona's No. 2 RB Andre Ellington injured his left foot in the third quarter, and neither back returned.
  1. Bills running back Karlos Williams was ruled out with a shoulder injury. Linebacker Nigel Bradham didn't return with an ankle injury. Defensive end Alex Carrington was quickly ruled out after suffering a knee injury.
  1. Jaguars wideout Allen Hurns was carted off the field on a stretcher late in their game against the Chargers but was moving his arms as he was removed. He was ruled out with a concussion. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and was later released.
  1. Bengals running back Jeremy Hill suffered an ankle injury and did not return in Cincinnati's 31-7 win over the Rams. Tight end Tyler Eifert suffered a stinger and did not return. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict suffered an ankle injury and didn't return. An already thin Bengals secondary got more depleted as cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris suffered a rib injury and didn't return.
  1. Falcons linebacker Justin Durant went to the locker room with an ankle injury and did not return.
  1. Jets cornerback Marcus Williams suffered a knee injury after picking off Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Williams was taking Darrelle Revis' spot in the lineup as Revis is out with a concussion.
  1. Giants guard Geoff Schwartz didn't return to the game after suffering a fractured left leg.
  1. Patriots safety Patrick Chung (foot) is active tonight versus the Broncos.
  1. Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo (knee) didn't return against the Falcons.
  1. Running back Carlos Hyde (foot) did not play on Sunday.
  1. Buccaneers linebacker Bruce Carter suffered a head injury and didn't return. Defensive end Jacquies Smith didn't return with a hamstring injury.
  1. Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman didn't return with a hamstring injury.
  1. Jaguars safety Josh Evans was ruled out with a concussion.
  1. Niners tight end Garrett Celek was carted off the field in the first quarter against the Cardinals with an ankle injury. The team announced that he suffered a high-ankle sprain.
  1. Steelers LB Ryan Shazier suffered a concussion and did not return.

On the offensive side, TE Heath Miller went out of Sunday's game with a rib injury.

  1. Cardinals CB Jerraud Powers was carted to the locker room after injuring his right calf and did not return.
  1. Broncos defenders Sylvester Williams and T.J. Ward were both taken to the locker room in the first half with ankle injuries. They did not return. Denver guard Louis Vasquez (groin) also did not return.
  1. Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower didn't return after suffering an injury. NFL Media's Albert Breer reported that Hightower's injury is an MCL sprain.
