Mark Brunell would "like to (play) another season," the free-agent quarterback told the New York Daily News on Tuesday, one day after The Florida Times-Union reported he would retire.

"If an opportunity came along, I would certainly consider it," the 19-year NFL veteran said. "I definitely would like to (play) another season. No plans to retire yet."
Brunell's agent, Bruce Tollner, echoed that sentiment, telling the New York Post that the former Jet wasn't retiring.
"Most guys that have trouble leaving the game are in their 20s," Brunell told The Times-Union on Monday. "I've been preparing for football to be over with for quite some time." He added that he didn't "want to miss any more" of his boys' football games.
Brunell backed up Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez the past two seasons. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1993 and spent the bulk of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars (1995-2003), leading the team to its first two playoff wins in 1996. He also played for the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints.
