Eagles WR A.J. Brown excited to see offense with new OC: 'Sometimes change is not a bad thing'

While there's some uncertainty surrounding A.J. Brown's future in Philadelphia, the star wide receiver is talking as if he will be playing with the Eagles in 2026.

Appearing on Micah Parsons' The Edge podcast on Friday, Brown said he was excited to see how the Eagles offense will look with a new offensive coordinator at the helm.

"Sometimes change is not a bad thing," Brown said. "I have the utmost respect for KP (Kevin Patullo). To me, he did a tremendous job and he has a great heart. But I'm excited for the season. I'm excited for what's to come."

The Eagles moved on from Kevin Patullo as the OC following a trying campaign that saw an inconsistent offense struggle toward a disappointing wild-card exit for Philadelphia. Sean Mannion was hired to take over and help turn around an offense that was playing in and eventually winning a Super Bowl this time last year.

Brown expressed his frustrations over the course of the season as his usage was erratic. He caught 78 passes for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns, a seeming continuation of a 2024 campaign that also featured plenty of grievances aired by Brown.

It's a big reason why Brown's future in Philadelphia has been speculated to be coming to an end after the past two years of frustrations. In his end-of-season news conference last month, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was noncommittal on Brown's future but maintained his praise for the three-time Pro Bowl wideout.

Brown, 28, is still primed to be the great WR who produced 1,400-plus receiving yards in each of his first two seasons with the Eagles. He looks forward to returning to form and getting the Eagles back into Super Bowl contention.

"As an offense, we just come back and just really watch the tape and, like said earlier, rediscover ourselves and got to work each and every day," Brown said. "Being accountable and take it one day at a time. We have a great leaders in our locker room and I'm fortunate to be a part of that, especially on offense. We do have a lot of talent, but talent gets us nowhere."
