Cage The Elephant to headline halftime show at 2026 NFL Munich Game on Nov. 15

The National Football League announced today that Cage The Elephant will headline the halftime show during the 2026 NFL Munich Game between the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3:30 p.m. CET (9:30 a.m. ET) at the FC Bayern Munich Arena.

The Munich performance will be part of a record seven halftime shows presented by American Express staged across the 2026 NFL International Games -- a lineup of live musical performances spanning seven countries and four continents -- as the league plays its most international games ever in a single season.

One of the defining rock bands of their generation, Cage The Elephant have taken their blend of rock music around the world. The two-time GRAMMY® Award winners for Best Rock Album have amassed more than 10 billion streams and 13 number-one records on Alternative radio, and toured the U.S. as special guests on the Oasis Live '25 Tour.

"We have played a lot of shows in Germany over the years and the crowds here have always given us everything they have," said Matt Shultz of Cage The Elephant. "Playing a halftime show is a completely different animal -- you get one shot in front of a stadium and a global audience, and you have to make every second count. We are going to bring the same energy we bring to our own shows and we cannot wait."

"Munich has given us some of the most memorable atmospheres of any international game we have staged, and we wanted a halftime act that could meet a crowd like that head on," said Tim Tubito, senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment at the NFL. "Cage The Elephant are one of the great live rock bands working today. Germany has a deep rock tradition and a football crowd that sings from start to finish, and we look forward to collaborating with the band on a performance that captures the energy that matches the moment."

The 2026 NFL Munich Game will be the third regular-season NFL game staged in the city following games in 2022 and 2024, and is played in partnership with FC Bayern Munich and the City of Munich. Munich will host a game in 2028 as part of a multi-year agreement.

Cage The Elephant's full halftime performance will be broadcast live in Germany free to air on RTL and on Sky Sport.

Cage The Elephant joins the previously announced lineup of international halftime performers, including the Jonas Brothers at the 2026 NFL Melbourne Game on Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground; Pedro Sampaio and Ricky Martin at the 2026 NFL Rio Game on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Maracanã Stadium; Ayra Starr at the 2026 NFL London Game on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; and The Warning at the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Estadio Banorte.

The league is committed to growing the game at every level across the country, engaging with fans year-round through partners, programs and initiatives. Further information around the entertainment and fan events surrounding the 2026 NFL Munich Game will follow soon.
