Browns place OL Chris Hubbard on COVID list, reopen facility

The Cleveland Browns are dealing with a late-week positive COVID-19 test that shut down the facility for several hours.

"Earlier this morning, the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player's test results have come back positive for COVID-19," the team said in a statement.

The individual self-isolated immediately and after conducting contract tracing the team reopened the facility.

"We have re-opened our facility this afternoon after contact tracing was completed and zero high-risk close contacts were identified. We remain in the NFL-NFLPA intensive protocol and will hold a practice session this afternoon beginning at 3pm.," the team announced in a statement.

Guard Chris Hubbard was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Browns are slated to host the Houston Texans on Sunday. As of now, the game remains unchanged.

Cleveland dealt with a positive staffer test last week that forced quarterback Baker Mayfield to isolate as a close contact. The QB was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week.
