With four NFL regular season games being played in Dublin and London in 2025, there is much to be excited about. There will be superstar players and storylines everywhere you look as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Minnesota Vikings, the Vikings play the Cleveland Browns, the New York Jets meet the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars battle with the Los Angeles Rams. Here is an alphabetical look at those big games heading to our shores this season.
A is for… Adams
One of the league's greatest receivers of recent times will be in action for the Rams when they clash with the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. Six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams is now playing for his fourth NFL team and has the talent to add to career totals of 957 receptions for 11,844 yards and 103 touchdowns.
B is for… Back-To-Back Again!
For the third year in a row, an NFL team will play back-to-back games in Europe. But it won't be the Jacksonville Jaguars, who played consecutive contests in London in 2023 and 2024. The Minnesota Vikings will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, before taking on the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham; becoming the first to play consecutive games in two European countries.
C is for… Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns will play an international game for just the second time in their long and illustrious history when they take on the Vikings on Sunday October 5. Their only other international contest was also against Minnesota at London's Twickenham Stadium in 2017. The Vikings won that contest 33-16.
D is for… Dublin
The passion for American football has long been alive across the island of Ireland, but momentum for a regular season game has accelerated in recent years and Dublin will host the history-making contest at Croke Park. Fans from across Ireland, America and Europe are going to gather for one heck of a party!
E is for… Energy
That grass up and down the Los Angeles Rams' sideline at Wembley Stadium is about to get worn out. Leading the Rams against the Jags will be one of the most excitable and energetic head coaches in the business in Sean McVay. With two Super Bowl appearances and one title win to his name already at the age of 39, McVay has much to be excited about.
F is for… Forty!
The first contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Browns-Vikings) will mark the 40th regular season game to be played in London. The first was 18 years ago in 2007 when the New York Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium. All 32 teams have played in London at least once during that span.
G is for… Garrett
One of the NFL's best pass-rushers will be keen to make his London debut when the Browns take on the Vikings. Six-time Pro Bowler and 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett – who has 102.5 sacks in eight seasons - missed the previous UK meeting between these teams in 2017 with a concussion.
H is for… Hunter
Described as "unicorn" who intends to be the NFL's first full-time, two-way player since Philadelphia's Chuck Bednarik in 1960, Travis Hunter is going to have the eyes of the sporting world trained on him in 2025. Is he a wide receiver or a cornerback? Can he be both? The Jaguars are hoping Hunter will be a star.
I is for… Interception Kings
Quarterbacks beware during the New York Jets-Denver Broncos game at Tottenham. The NFL's top two cornerbacks will be in action and will be hunting footballs. New York's Sauce Gardner has made the Pro Bowl in two of his first three seasons, while Denver's Patrick Surtain is a three-time all-star and the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year.
J is for… Justin Jefferson
One of the greatest wide receivers in recent NFL history will return to London and also take in a trip to Dublin this year as Justin Jefferson leads the Minnesota Vikings' attack. Jefferson is as consistent as he is explosive, recording a 1,000-yard season in each of his first five years in the league. A true superstar.
K is for… Knowing How to Win
One of the most successful coaches of his generation will return to the UK when Sean Payton leads the Broncos. Payton, who once played QB for the Leicester Panthers in England, is a Super Bowl champion who snapped Denver's eight-season playoff drought in 2024. And how about Pittsburgh's own Super Bowl-winning coach in Mike Tomlin? He has never had a losing season in 18 campaigns – an NFL record.
L is for… Lawrence
The Jaguars will, once again, be led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence; who secured his very first NFL win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021. Lawrence will make his seventh international start when the Jags face the Rams – most in NFL history. He is 4-2 overseas and leads all quarterbacks with 1,401 passing yards.
M is for… Mile High Pass Rush
Justin Fields will hope to use the first half of the 2025 season to settle into his role as New York's starting QB. But Denver's pass rush that produced an NFL-high 63 sacks last term will have other ideas. Nik Bonitto (13 ½ sacks), Jonathon Cooper (10 ½ sacks) and Zach Allen (8 ½ sacks) can bring intense pressure from across the defense.
N is for… New Head Coaches
The 2025 NFL season will see new beginnings at head coach for the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets will be led by their former defensive back and ex-Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. The Jags have turned to Liam Coen, who built one of the NFL's best attacks in Tampa Bay.
O is for… Old Heads
Two of the NFL's best and most experienced defenders will be on the field in Dublin when the Steelers clash with the Vikings. Pittsburgh's defensive line is anchored by 36-year-old tackle Cam Heyward, who is a seven-time all-star. Minnesota's secondary is led by six-time Pro Bowler Harrison Smith, who is also 36.
P is for… Puka
The Rams are blessed with outstanding receiving talent and working alongside Davante Adams in London will be third-year star Puka Nacua. As a rookie in 2023, Nacua set new NFL records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486). Tough and talented, Nacua can do it all as a key man in Sean McVay's attack.
Q is for… Quarterback Hunters
Quarterbacks facing the Jaguars need to have a good line in front of them or a clock in their heads to get rid of the ball quickly. Coming after them are the dynamic pairing of Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. Over the past two seasons, that duo has combined for 46 sacks (Hines-Allen 25 ½… Walker 20 ½).
R is for… Running Back Duo
Defending the rushing attack of the New York Jets will not be easy when the Denver Broncos face Aaron Glenn's team in London. Breece Hall is an electrifying and energetic runner who can score from anywhere on the field, while 235-pound sophomore Braelon Allen is a bruiser who will make you feel every tackle.
S is for… Stafford
Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford returns to play in London for a third time and his first with the Rams. Stafford threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns as Detroit rallied from 21-0 down to beat Atlanta 22-21 in 2014. A year later, Stafford was intercepted twice and sacked six times in a 45-10 loss to Kansas City.
T is for… Tight Ends
Some very productive tight ends are heading to Ireland and the UK. T.J. Hockenson and Pat Freiermuth are sure to play key roles for the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers respectively. One of Cleveland's vital passing game targets is David Njoku, while Denver will unveil their newest weapon in Evan Engram. Hockenson, Engram and Njoku have combined for five Pro Bowls.
U is for… Unbeaten
The Minnesota Vikings are a perfect 4-0 in London and they have won those games with four different quarterbacks. They beat the Pittsburgh Steelers with Christian Ponder at QB in 2013, Case Keenum delivered a win over Cleveland in 2017, Kirk Cousins was at the helm for a 2022 success against New Orleans, while Sam Darnold was victorious against his old team, the Jets, last season.
V is for… Verse
The Rams' defense will be led by one of the NFL's brightest young stars at Wembley. Jared Verse, 24, recorded 66 tackles, 4 ½ sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 2024, earning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honours. The playmaking linebacker is sure to catch the eye in London!
W is for… Watt
The Ireland and London games are not all about offense… the defenses are going to have their say! Pittsburgh's unit will be jolted by one of the best pass rushers in the NFL in T.J. Watt. Whenever the Steelers need a big play, their edge rusher steps up. Watt is a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year who recorded 108 sacks in his first 121 career games.
X is for… X Receiver Talent
In addition to the Rams' pairing already mentioned and Jefferson, some excellent number one – or X – receivers are heading to Ireland and the UK. Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars), D.K. Metcalf (Steelers), Jerry Jeudy (Browns), Courtland Sutton (Broncos) and Garrett Wilson (Jets) can all take over a game with their skills.
Y is for… Young Quarterbacks
Two exciting sophomore quarterbacks will be playing in Ireland and the United Kingdom this autumn. Minnesota fans will be keen to see 2024 first-round draft pick J.J. McCarthy in action in Dublin and London. Denver's dynamic Box Nix will look to build on a rookie campaign that resulted in a playoff berth in 2024.
Z is for… Zammit
Don't ever leave the Jaguars, Louis Rees-Zammit or this A to Z will never get finished! The former Welsh Rugby Union star is in his second season as a wide receiver with the AFC South club. He worked his way to the NFL via the league's International Player Pathway programme.
