2024 NFL Season, Week 5: Notable injuries, news from Sunday's games

Here are the injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 5 Sunday:

  • Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Will Hernandez (knee) was ruled out.
  • Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen told reporters postgame that he got shaken up on a hit during Sunday's game versus the Texans, resulting in him rolling his ankle. He was able to return to the game.
  • Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (shoulder) was ruled out versus the Bears. Cornerback Jaycee Horn was ejected after a fight.
  • Chicago Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins (ankle) did not return versus the Panthers. Offensive lineman Matt Pryor was ejected after a fight.
  • Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dax Hill (right knee) was ruled out versus the Ravens. Offensive tackles Amarius Mims (left ankle) did not return.
  • Cleveland Browns safety Rodney McLeod (face laceration) is questionable to return versus the Commanders. Cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring) was ruled out. Long snapper Charley Hughlett (rib) ruled out. Defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo (illness) did not return.
  • Dallas Cowboys edge Marshawn Kneeland was carted to the locker room and ruled out against the Steelers. Offensive tackle Jalen Guyton (knee) did not return.
  • Denver Broncos right tackle Alex Palczewski is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain versus the Raiders, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported, adding more testing will come Monday.
  • Green Bay Packers cornerback Robert Rochell (stinger) did not return versus the Rams.
  • Houston Texans running back British Brooks (knee) was ruled out versus the Bills. Wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) ruled out. Safety Jimmie Ward (groin) ruled out.
  • Indianapolis Colts guard Will Fries will undergo a surgical procedure tonight for a tibia injury after exiting versus the Jaguars, head coach Shane Steichen said after the game.
  • Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (foot) was ruled out versus the Broncos.
  • Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane was ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion versus the Patriots. Safety Jevon Holland (hand) suffered a broken bone in his hand Sunday and is expected to miss time, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
  • Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones (hip) was ruled out against the Jets. Jones exited the game in the first quarter.
  • New Orleans Saints linebacker Pete Wernerhas been downgraded to out for Monday's game versus the Chiefs. Running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is now doubtful.
  • New York Jets cornerback Michael Carter II (hamstring) didn't return against Minnesota. Cornerback Sauce Gardner was evaluated for a head injury but returned in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers told reporters after the game that he's dealing with a low ankle sprain.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker link-placeholder-29 defensive end DeMarvin Leal (stinger) did not return versus the Cowboys.
  • San Francisco 49ers safety Talanoa Hufanga (wrist) was ruled out versus the Cardinals. Kicker Jake Moody (ankle) was ruled out and seen in a walking boot after the game. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that Moody suffered a high ankle sprain and will likely miss a few weeks. Safety Ji'Ayir Brown (ankle) did not return.
  • Seattle Seahawks linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (thigh) was ruled out versus the Giants. Cornerback Tariq Woolen (ankle) did not return.
  • Washington Commanders safety Jartavius Martin (shoulder/concussion) did not return versus the Browns.
